[Published December 15, 2015]

On December 3rd, the first neutrino detection for KM3NeT-Italy has been successfully installed and operated.

The ANTARES Collaboration congratulates colleagues and friends from the KM3NeT Collaboration for this major step forward. ANTARES is no longer alone in the search for high-energy neutrinos in the abysses of the Mediterranean Sea! A new chapter in the story of neutrino astronomy has begun.

The picture below shows the relative position of the ANTARES and KM3NeT-Italy sites, approximately 1000km apart.
